Council Meetings are held in the Council Chambers at the Vanderhoof Municipal Office – 160 Connaught Street, Vanderhoof, BC. Meetings begin at 5:30PM. The public is welcome to attend all open meetings. Regular Meetings are held the second and fourth Mondays of each month; Committee of the Whole Meetings are also held the third Monday of each month (some exceptions apply – see the monthly calendar below).

Hardcopies of meeting agendas are also available at the Municipal Office the Friday afternoon before a scheduled meeting.
Presenting to Council
Delegations: Members of the public can present to Council at Regular Council Meetings, pending approval by the Corporate Officer. All requests to the Corporate Officer must be made in writing using the Delegation Request Form below. Please make sure to download the form before filling it out then email it to the Corporate Officer. You will be contacted by Staff to confirm your presentation date and time.
Resolution or Letter of Support Request: Individuals or Organizations may request a resolution of support or letter of support for their grant application from Mayor and Council by submitting a “Resolution of Support or Letter of Support Request Form” to an upcoming Council meeting agenda. Your correspondence must be received before 12:00 p.m., on the Wednesday immediately preceding the Regular Council meeting date. Note: Failure to meet this submission deadline may result in your correspondence being scheduled for a subsequent Council meeting date.

General Request of Council: General requests of Council must be made by submitting the form below. General requests for inclusion on Council meeting agendas is an alternative to speaking at a Council meeting. These are public documents and are reviewed by Council at each meeting and published on the District’s website. Your correspondence must be received before 12:00 p.m., on the Wednesday immediately preceding the Regular Council meeting date. Note: Failure to meet this submission deadline may result in your correspondence being scheduled for a subsequent Council meeting date.
Additional Information on Council Meetings
Speaking at meetings: when you attend a Regular Council meeting and wish to make a comment on an agenda item, please raise your hand during the “Public Questions on Agenda Items” section of the agenda. This is the only opportunity during the meeting for public comments or questions.
Public Hearings: Public Hearings are a formal process held by Council to receive public input on Zoning or Official Community Plan amendments. In accordance with the Local Government Act, any person who believes that his or her interest in property is affected by the proposed bylaw shall be given a reasonable opportunity to be heard. Public Hearings are advertised in the Omineca Express, posted on the District website and at the Municipal Office.
